FRIDAY 19-21:00
with Beth Walker
20€, no experience needed, held in English.
Before showing her craft on our event on Saturday night, she will show you how it’s done and allow you to experiment with liquids & projections yourself. In collaboration with Casa de Gigante, you’ll dive into the world of colours, fluid textues and light.
Learn about the history and continued evolution of Liquid Light Shows and create visuals using a live digital camera feed, as well as an analogue technique with an overhead projector. You will also explore the layering of multiple projections.
These techniques are perfect for bringing magic and atmosphere to clubs, festivals and many other settings – as you will see the night after. The workshop will emphasise playful experimentation and the tactile, reciprocal qualities of working with light and liquids.
Beth Walker (she/her) is a visual artist from the UK. Her work spans short films, projection installations and live visual performance. She combines material and digital techniques, often working with reactive materials at macro scale to create her visual effects.
Beth’s work has been shown in galleries, clubs and festivals including the Barbican Centre, New York State Museum and Annecy International Animation Festival. She holds an MA in Animation from the Royal College of Art, and has been a judge for London International Animation Festival for the past two years.
Beth is currently based in Lisbon completing her PhD in Media Arts, and is a resident artist at MILL (Makers in Little Lisbon).

SATURDAY 14-17:00
with Dave & Dixon from Wordplay
Participation is free, but donations are welcome – please register beforehand via Luma so they know what to expect.
Art comes in many shapes, and the written word is one of them.
With the help of the gang from @Wordplay, discover how to guide your own words from brain to paper, regardless of your writing experience.
We’ve read that they are very friendly and that they create a supportive space, so don’t be shy, bring a pen and paper, and write with them by the river.
Dave and Dixon will lead you through writing exercises and word games in the workshop – they will be happy to provide feedback for your own work if you want it..

SATURDAY 15-16:15
with Mariana Girassol
8€, no experience needed, just bring a carpet or a mat, held in english/portuguese
It’s your time to salute the sun, become a mountain and bend your back gently like a cobra – next to flowing river and amongst the trees.
Mariana is offering a yoga session for all bodies and ages – all you need is to bring is a blanket, towel or carpet to be on. Breathe, move, observe your inner movements and the stillness that lays behind them.
She is yoga instructor based in Hatha Yoga, also facilitates creative dancing, and as a part of her work, she has been focusing on teaching accessible classes to people with reduced mobility and seniors. She believes the wellbeing of the body is a happy consequence of the practice, but not the goal or direction of the practice – therefore she brings a vast knowledge of what’s good for the body, in all their states.

If you are considering to bring your dog, do yourself and them a favor and leave them at home. We love them too, but there will be loud music and the river beach itself is not a dog beach. If you have no other option, leave them on the leash and make sure to pick up their poop.
See you on the beach!
